History

The Art of Caring benefit for Catholic Charities, Lake County Services, was the loving brainchild of a group of forward thinking women in 1989, with the event making its debut in Spring 1990.

With the vision to financially enrich the important services of Catholic Charities, the Women's Board designed a benefit that has since become the most significant fundraising event of Lake County.

Originally themed to showcase artistic works by Lake County artists and artisans while raising funds and awareness of Catholic Charities' services, the Art of Caring benefit has raised more than $2.8 million since its inception, with over 90 percent going directly to programs and services run by Catholic Charities in Lake County, including Community Casework, Emergency Services, Family Self-Sufficiency, Food Pantry, Holbrook Center for Counseling, LOSS (Loving Outreach to Survivors of Suicide) Program, Maternity and Adoption Services, Meals on Wheels, Samaritan House and Senior Outreach.
