Dennis T. Trainor, Program Director

Dennis Trainor is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University (B.A. with honors, 1985) and University of Miami School of Law (J.D. 1988). Dennis became CCLA’s Program Director in March 2011. Dennis has over 22 years of experience in consumer litigation. Prior to joining CCLA, Dennis was an attorney with the Legal Aid Bureau of Metropolitan Family Services where he expanded its Poverty Law Project to the south suburbs of Cook County, established and personally staffed a pro se advice desk at the Markham Courthouse, secured funding for, staffed and administered the legal services function of the Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehousing Program in suburban Cook County and represented clients in consumer and housing matters. Dennis practiced Plaintiff’s consumer class action law for over a decade with an emphasis in mortgage servicing matters and has litigated matters for individuals and corporate clients in a variety of subject matter areas.



Kathleen M. Callahan, Senior Attorney


Kathleen Callahan is a graduate of Boston College (B.A. 1988) and DePaul University College of Law (J.D. 1994). Prior to joining Catholic Charities Legal Assistance (CCLA) in 2009 as a Staff Attorney, Kathleen worked in legal aid as a staff attorney for CARPLS (Coordinated Advice & Referral Program for Legal Services), and for the Chicago Legal Clinic, Inc., where she concentrated in domestic relations law. While with CLC, Kathleen began specializing in representing victims of domestic violence. Kathleen spent several years in private practice in personal injury, commercial litigation and domestic relations law. In January 2011, Kathleen was promoted to the Senior Attorney position with CCLA. Kathleen works closely with the Immigrant Survivors Project and volunteer attorneys.



Rose Mraz, Staff Attorney


Rose Mraz is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania (dual B.A. 2000) and Tulane University School of Law (J.D. 2004). In law school, Rose received an award for the student most dedicated to community service for her volunteer work at Catholic Charities Immigration and Refugee Services and Loyola Law School’s immigrant detention project. Prior to joining Catholic Charities Legal Assistance (CCLA), Rose worked as supervising attorney with National Immigrant Justice Center practicing immigration law with a focus on relief for immigrant victims of domestic violence and violent crimes. She also worked as a regional immigration attorney with Justice For Our Neighbors. In her work with the Immigrant Survivors Project, Rose provides representation to immigrant victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking for orders of protection, child support/maintenance, child custody, visitation, and civil no contact orders. Rose is fluent in Spanish and conversational in German.
