Opportunities for Representation

Sometimes advice alone is not enough and a client’s situation demands that he or she be represented by counsel. In those cases, CCLA either directs clients to one or more legal aid organizations best suited to help with that legal issue, or we turn to our network of lawyers and firms who accept pro bono (free) clients within their legal specialty. Twenty-three law firms and eighty-six individual attorneys currently work with CCLA to provide legal representation for the most compelling cases.

Immigrant Survivors Project:CCLA represents immigrant survivors of domestic violence or other violent crimes in family law matters. These matters include Orders of Protection, child support and maintenance, child custody and visitation and civil no contact orders. In addition, CCLA partners with Catholic Charities Department of Immigration and Naturalization Services, Sarah’s Inn, and Greenhouse Shelter to provide comprehensive immigration, legal, social and counseling services.
