
Every year in September, Catholic Charities NW Senior Services, along with other organizations, help coordinate the Community Paint-A-Thon.
Paint-A-Thon
Application Deadline: July 1
Paint Date: First Saturday after Labor Day
Remember this event takes place once every year, if you missed this years deadline, there is always next year.
What is the Paint-A-Thon?
The Paint-A-Thon is a project designed to paint the homes of persons with limited financial resources who are either 60 years of age or older, or have a permanent disability and are unable to do the work themselves.
The Paint-A-Thon is a community partnership supported by many community organizations and volunteers.
Eligibility Requirements
House must be:

Owned and occupied by person(s):
- Aged 60 or older
- Or with permanent disability
- A single family residence, occupied by its owners
- No larger than 2 stories
- Structurally sound and not in need of major repairs
- In need of paint
Homeowner:
- Or family member must be present when volunteer team is at the home
- Is not intending to sell the house within the next two years
- Assets must be limited
- Household income must be less than $36,000 annually and $3,000/monthly *
Income is not the only criteria. Medical expenses and other special circumstances are taken into consideration.
Home sites will be restricted to these 10 Townships:
- Barrington
- Elk Grove
- Hanover
- Maine
- New Trier
- Niles
- Northfield
- Palatine
- Schaumburg
- Wheeling
(our project may expand to other Townships as our volunteer resources grow.)
