The Chore Program Basics:
- Light Housekeeping
- Laundry Assistance
- Once or Twice a Month
- Suggested Donation
We are the only agency providing this service in Barrington, Hanover, Palatine and Wheeling Townships under the federal Older Americans Act services.
The Chore Housekeeping Program has been designed to provide light housekeeping and laundry assistance necessary services for individuals who for physical, medical or other substantiated reasons can not do their own household chores and have no other means of assistance.
How it Works
You can refer yourself or someone you know who might need help with light housekeeping.
After a referral is made, clients are selected and prioritized for service based on need.
One of our Case Managers will call and make an appointment to come to the client's house and complete a free assessment of his/her needs.
Once eligible for the Chore Program, a service schedule is made for the client. The housekeeper will come once or twice a month for a pre-determined amount of time.
A letter will be mailed to clients each month indicating the hours of service received and a suggested donation amount.
The Case Manager will re-assess the client's needs on an annual basis, or more often as needed.
Services can be canceled at any time.
How Much Does it Cost?
- There is a suggested donation of $6/hr.
- No one is denied services for inability to pay.
- Donations help to keep the program running.
