You can utilize Respite Care services if you:
- Have a relative over 60 who depends on your for his/her everyday needs
- Need a break in your caregiving routine
Respite Care service allows you to:
- Schedule several evenings away from home
- Plan a weekend away from home
- Go out during the day
- Attend a support group for caregivers
- Take a nap, garden, read a book
No one else can provide the kind of care you do, but taking a break from these responsibilities can renew your ability to continue quality caregiving.
Respite Care Options
Adult Day Service offers:
- Care and supervision of client in a group setting outside of their own home
- Nutritious meals
- Social activities
- Transportation as available
In-Home Care offers:
- Non-medical support in the senior's home
- Personal care such as grooming and bathing
- Meal planning
- Supervision
Nursing Home/Facility Based Respite offers:
Care and supervision of client for a short term period in a nursing home
These Respite Care options are for persons determined physically in need of service, meaning he/she is at least moderately impaired.
How Much Does it Cost?
- Respite services are funded under the Title III of the Older American's Act
- Donations are encouraged towards the cost of respite service
