An 1881 Grant Steam Locomotive. An 1890 European Eden Palais Carousel. The world's largest theatre organ with 8,000 pipes. Antique music, arcade and gambling machines. Tiffany lamps, an ice cream parlor, 200 music boxes, phonographs, 65 coin operated pianos, and a street clock that stands 20 feet tall.

Experiencing these buried treasures of the Sanfilippo Estate in Barrington Hills usually requires a personal invitation. However, on April 28, 2012, the estate will open its private doors to the public for the 23rd Annual Hearts for Homeless Families "The 8th Wonder of the World Tour" dinner and auction. The number one social event of 2012 benefits Catholic Charities Northwest Regional Services and the New Hope Apartments Program, an innovative supportive housing program designed to help end the cycle of homelessness for local families.

Cost of a ticket, which includes hors d'oeuvres, open bar, elegant dinner, and auction emceed by award-winning WGN radio host Garry Meier is $175 per person or $1,650 for a table of ten.

Auction items include: your own private cocktail party at the Sanfilippo Estate for 50 people, pig roast, Cubs and Sox tickets, a Faberge vase, exotic trip packages, and much more!
