There's Nothing Trivial About Raising Money for Catholic Charities' Emergency Services:
Start the School Year with a Night of Fun
WHO: Catholic Charities South Region Office
WHAT: "Texts, Tests and Trivia" Night
WHERE: St. Anne's Parish, Sweeney Hall, South 168th Street and Dixie Highway
WHEN: Saturday, September 18th, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
COST: Admission $15 per person. There will be a cash bar for wine, beer and soft drinks. Participants may bring in their own snack foods.
WHY: To raise funds for Emergency Services in Catholic Charities' South Regional Office
Set aside the date for a delightful evening of fun and fellowship with friends! Remember what it was like to return to school after a long summer off? It's time to sharpen the pencils and enjoy Catholic Charities' third trivia night. Get a group together to form a team (s) of six; choose a name and a captain for each team and bring your own snacks. Prizes presented to winning teams following the last game.
Proceeds from the event will fund emergency services for south regional residents. This includes shelter, food, clothing, emergency financial assistance, referral, benefits screening and short-term case management.
Games will be played in 12 rounds of 10 questions each for a total of 120 possible points; players will have 30 seconds to write down answers after each question is read. At the end of the round, team representatives turn in answer sheets to the judges! Additional fun and games will happen during short intermissions. Prizes are presented to the winning teams following the last game!
"If you are looking for a fun way to go 'back to school,' here is a chance to spend time with friends and neighbors enjoying an inexpensive evening while learning! Your contributions will also help many needy persons. Join us," says Fred Shannon, South Region Representative.
