Catholic Charities Benefit Helps Local Homeless to the Tune of $118,000The virtual home-based museum at the Sanfilippo Estate in Barrington Hills was once again the site of the Catholic Charities Hearts for Homeless Families “The 8th Wonder of the World Tour” dinner and auction on April 28. And once again, its treasures of antique music, arcade and gambling machines, Tiffany, music boxes, phonographs and coin operated pianos wowed the crowd of over 320. The generous attendees opened their hearts and their wallets raising over $118,000 to support Catholic Charities Northwest Regional Services and the New Hope Apartments Program, an innovative supportive housing program designed to help end the cycle of homelessness for local families.

"The Priests" Sing for Catholic Charities' Mass of GratitudeOn Tuesday, May 1, over 400 people gathered at Holy Family Church in Chicago for Catholic Charities’ “Mass of Gratitude” featuring The Priests, a trio of singing clergy from Ireland.
The Mass thanked Catholic Charities board members, donors and volunteers for their support during a time of increased need and demand for social services, due to the struggling economy.

Connecting The Dots: Catholic Charities In The Let's Move! Video Challenge Catholic Charities’ Community Development & Outreach Services has recently submitted a video to the Let’s Move! Communities On the Move Video Challenge, a contest in which partner agencies submit videos highlighting their participation in Let’s Move! and efforts to reverse the trend of childhood obesity. Our video is called Connecting the Dots, and is about our Summer Food Program and the ideas and solutions that are shared together by a team dedicating their time to not only provide access to fresh, affordable food to those in need, but also to help clients connect the dots with systems and services to provide them with resources for sustainability on a road toward self-sufficiency. -

Catholic Charities’ West Region Raises over $29,000 for Homeless FamiliesOn Thursday, March 8th, Catholic Charities West Regional Advisory Board hosted its
9th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Party Fundraiser at FitzGerald’s, 6615 Roosevelt Road in Berwyn. The event, which benefits Catholic Charities’ New Hope Housing Program in West Cook County, was attended by over 370 people and raised over $29,000.
