Catholic Charities Chosen to Manage and Operate Statewide Foreclosure Prevention Helpline As part of the Illinois Housing Development Authority’s new Illinois Foreclosure Prevention Network (IFPN), Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago has been chosen to manage and operate a statewide helpline that will refer an anticipated 400+ callers a day to housing counselors or other foreclosure resources.

Third Annual Chi-Town Jazz Festival to Raise Funds for Catholic Charities Fight Against Hunger The 2012 Chi-Town Jazz Festival (CJTF) will take place March 7 – 11. This year marks the charitable event’s third and establishes it as a bona fide annual festival. The resounding success of CTJF’s inaugural and sophomore years has, yet again, inspired the Chicago jazz community to come together for a common cause: Chicago-area hunger relief.

St. Mary of Celle and St. Joseph Child Development Centers Awarded NAEYC Accreditation The St. Mary of Celle Child Development Center has achieved accreditation by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, effective 12/15/11 through 1/1/17. The St. Joseph Accreditation Child Development Center also was accredited by NAEYC for the first time this year, effective 1/20/12 through 2/1/17.

A Message from Monsignor Michael M. Boland
I am saddened to inform you that one of our staff, Daryl Lincoln, passed away on yesterday evening, after suffering injuries in a tragic hit and run car accident on January 9. Daryl worked for Catholic Charities for 12 years. He dedicated his life to helping others through their most difficult times, for example, by providing them with food when they were hungry, assistance when they and their families were facing eviction, or when they needed clothing and other basic necessities.
