Catholic Charities Junior Board Raises Record Amount for Needy with Casino NightCatholic Charities’ 5th Annual Junior Board Charities Royale “Casino Night and Silent Auction” raised over $34,000 for the agency’s Emergency Assistance Program, $7200 more than the previous year. Held November 12, 2011 at St. Ignatius College Prep High School, the elegant event was attended by over 200 people who enjoyed casino games, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, entertainment, a silent auction and raffle.
Casino Night benefits Catholic Charities’ Emergency Assistance Program, which provides a full array of services for clients with basic human needs (food, clothing, and shelter), employment, financial assistance, referral, advocacy, short-term case management and eligibility screening for public benefits.

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago Partners with MyPlate Initiative Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago has partnered with MyPlate, an initiative reminding Americans to eat healthy foods utilizing an easy to recognize visual, a plate divided into the five food groups. Along with First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! campaign, MyPlate is an added tool to increase awareness for healthy eating and portion control, especially for children, where obesity is a major concern.

Caridades Católicas de la Arquidiócesis de Chicago en Asociación con la Iniciativa MiPlato Caridades Católicas de la Arquidiócesis de Chicago se ha asociado con MiPlato, una iniciativa recordándonos a comer alimentos saludables utilizando un visual fácil de reconocer, un plato dividido entre los cinco grupos de alimentos. Catholic Charities Chosen to Manage and Operate Statewide Foreclosure Prevention Helpline As part of the Illinois Housing Development Authority’s new Illinois Foreclosure Prevention Network (IFPN), Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago has been chosen to manage and operate a statewide helpline that will refer an anticipated 400+ callers a day to housing counselors or other foreclosure resources.
