Catholic Charities WIC Program Welcomes Vendors to Submit Proposals Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago is seeking proposals from licensed Private Security Contractors in response to its Request for Proposal for Security Guard Services, for its WIC Food and Nutrition Centers Program. Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago operates 17 WIC Food Center sites in Chicago. Last evening, Rev. Roger Coughlin, 84, associate administrator of Catholic Charities, passed away. In our grief, let us take comfort in our belief that Father Coughlin has now received his eternal reward in Heaven. Father Coughlin brought his amazing vitality, vision and humor to everything he did, until only very recently, when health problems curtailed his activities. -

Catholic Charities Receives Grant to Assist Refugees During Resettlement Process Catholic Charities' Refugee Resettlement Program has received notice of funding for its Refugee Resettlement Program through the Anthonian Association of the Friends of St. Anthony of Padua of Mt. St. Francis, Indiana. The funds, which total $20,000, will be used by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago in providing rental assistance, monies for public transportation, mattresses, personal hygiene items, school uniforms, and other basic needs to refugees from around the world who have just arrived in the Chicago area. -

Census Outreach Through Catholic Charities to Help Seniors Be Counted This year Catholic Charities Lake County Services and South Suburban Seniors Services are partnering with the United States Census Bureau to make sure seniors are aware of how important the Census is for their community. With funding from AgeOptions, Catholic Charities is reaching out in particular to seniors, who might be targeted by scams, to encourage their participation while helping them understand which activities are officially sanctioned by the Census Bureau.
