WAUKEGAN - Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Catholic Charities’ Lake County Services. Catholic Charities will hold its 9th annual Meals on Wheels Dinner Dance and Silent Auction Saturday, March 17, at Maravela’s Banquets in Fox Lake to raise money for its Meals on Wheels program.
An anonymous donor will deliver a special Valentine’s Day lunch for residents of St. Leo’s Veteran’s Campus, including hot pizza, soda, and cookies. The 141 formerly homeless men and women at St. Leo’s will mark their one-month anniversary at the brand-new residence in mid-February.
CHICAGO – Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago is reaching out to current refugees or persons who have been granted asylum to make them aware that the U.S. Department of State had been authorized to extend eligibility for the U.S. Refugee Program to family reunification applicants from the following 17 countries: Afghanistan, Democratic Rep. of Congo, Burma, Eritrea, Burundi, Ethiopia, Colombia, Haiti, Congo (Brazzaville), Iran, Cuba, Iraq, North Korea, Rwanda, Somalia, Sudan and Uzbekistan.
