Catholic Charities Family Strengthening Center in Berwyn Invites Community to Open HouseJune 13th Event to Highlight Literacy, Art, Fitness and Nutrition Programs; as well as Quality, Affordable Child Care
The St. Mary of Celle Family Strengthening Center will highlight its full range of summer programming for all ages at an open house on Sunday, June 13th from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at 1448 S. Wesley, in Berwyn. Housed in the former St. Mary of Celle Elementary School, the Family Strengthening Center has classrooms, large recreational areas, and a computer lab. The building also houses a licensed child care center which will be included in the open house.Community partners that will have tables at the open house are: C &T Energy, the Citizens Utility Board (CUB), Fifth Third Bank, Literacy Volunteers (providers of English as a Second Language instruction), and PCC Wellness (a community-based health service provider). Refreshments will be served, and a bake sale will be held to raise funds for class supplies.
Some of the more unique offerings at St. Mary of Celle Family Strengthening Center this summer will be: a mosaic class for adults, which will result in a wall-size mural for the center; a Mexican folkloric dance class for children; cooking classes, and SMART; a volunteer-led, summer literacy program for children.
