CHICAGO - A completely redesigned and enhanced web site www.catholiccharities.net has been launched by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago, one of the largest social service agencies in the Midwest. As part of its 90th Anniversary year, Catholic Charities’ web site has undergone significant improvements in navigation, content and visual appeal. The web site communicates information about Catholic Charities’ programs to the people it serves, as well as to volunteers, the general public, and over 2,500 employees.

Detailing a wide array of services and programs, which includes services for children, families, senior citizens, veterans, refugees, the hungry and homeless and other people in need, the site allows a variety of visitors to easily navigate to their particular areas of interest. Notable changes in content include an updated list of programs and easy links to pages for volunteer opportunities, administration, parish outreach, online events registration and donations, Catholic Charities’ Board of Advisors and Junior Board, a media room, and other major agency components.

The site will be continuously updated by Catholic Charities’ Web Manager, Edward Comarzan, who orchestrated the redesign over the last six months.

"We are extremely pleased to announce the launch of the redesigned Catholic Charities web site,” said Jennifer Sirota, Creative Director for Catholic Charities. “Visitors can access information about our services more easily than ever before, and now they can also subscribe to e-mail updates and view new audio and video content. The site will only strengthen Catholic Charities’ ability to continue its 90-year tradition of providing help and hope to Chicago and its suburbs."

Now in its 90th year, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago is the largest private, not-for-profit social service agency in the Midwest, annually assisting 1.1 million persons in Cook and Lake counties without regard to religious, ethnic or economic background. Catholic Charities fulfills the Church's role in the mission of charity by providing compassionate, competent, professional services that strengthen and support individuals, families and communities
