Catholic Charities St. Patrick’s Day Party Seeks “Pot of Gold” for West Regional Homeless Families

Forest Park, Illinois----A merry group of early St. Patrick’s day revelers enjoyed food, fun and fellowship at Catholic Charities’ Fifth Annual St. Patrick’s Day Party Fundraiser held this evening at Molly Malone’s Irish Pub in Forest Park. Proceeds from the party will benefit Catholic Charities’ New Hope Apartments program in the Western suburbs.

For a ticket price of $45, guests enjoyed hearty appetizers, imported and domestic beer, wine and soda, Irish entertainment, and a chance for raffle and auction prizes from local retailers and restaurants.

“The committee went all out this year to make the event a great success,” said Dalia Bagdonas Rocotello, West Suburban Regional Representative. West Suburban Regional Advisory Board members John O’Leary, of Elmhurst, and Patrick Van de Walle, of Woodridge, co-chaired the event.

Catholic Charities’ New Hope Apartments program places homeless families in scattered-site apartments around the western suburbs. The families are supported with intensive case management, including a plan for self-sufficiency, and may remain in the program for a maximum of 24 months.

Now in its 90th year, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago is the largest private, not-for-profit social service agency in the Midwest, annually assisting 1.1 million persons in Cook and Lake counties without regard to religious, ethnic or economic background. Catholic Charities fulfills the Church's role in the mission of charity by providing compassionate, competent, professional services that strengthen and support individuals, families and communities
