  Alsip, Illinois-lights, camera action-the stage is set for the heartwarming story of Catholic Charities and its work to alleviate homelessness in the southwest suburbs. The "production" is a fundraising dinner entitled, "At the Movies," to be held Saturday, April 19th at 6 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel, 5000 W. 127th Street, Alsip.  Tickets are $65 per person and include dinner, open bar, and the opportunity to participate in a silent auction and raffle.  Guest "director," Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times columnist, and co-host of "At The Movies with Ebert & Roeper" will emcee the event.

 Catholic Charities Southwest Regional Office raised $38,000 in 2007 and hopes to increase that amount to $40,000 this year.   Proceeds from "At The Movies" will help to fund emergency food and utility assistance, counseling, employment services, parenting and childcare, food supplements and housing to families in the southwest suburbs. Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago provides comprehensive services to southwest suburban families through its regional office located in Worth.
