The City From the View of the Homeless: Photography Program Hosts Free Exhibit At Catholic Charities

A free, family-friendly art exhibit showcasing work by 50 homeless photographers

We often walk by the homeless, but to Catholic Charities these individuals are budding creative artists with a story to share.

The 15th Annual After Supper Visions art exhibit is Friday, June 9 through Sunday, June 11 at Catholic Charities, 721 N. LaSalle Street. This free art exhibit showcases photos by more than 50 photographers who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Attendees can browse the exhibit, visit with the photographer to hear about their perspective, and support the artists through purchasing prints or note cards.

After Supper Visions Photography Project is a social enterprise that gives Catholic Charities evening supper guests who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, an opportunity to discover their creative talents through photography, enabling the artists to create, connect, and communicate.

Prints, note cards and magnets are available for purchase at the art exhibit or online at Artists use the profits to help with security deposits for apartments, paying utility bills, buying food, or purchasing digital cameras to encourage their new passion.
