Have a Heart, Help Your Neighbor Month at Catholic Charities

Beginning March 1 and continuing all month, Catholic Charities is launching a new, innovative campaign called Have a Heart, Help Your Neighbor to help people and families who have nowhere else to turn by collecting financial contributions and food.

Our need has increased. At our 10 food pantries in Cook and Lake Counties, we served an extra 70,866 people last year. That’s a 46% increase, which is why we need your help now.

Our goal is to reach 1 million people this month with our message and call for help so we can stock our food pantry shelves and secure needed funds for emergency assistance.

We'd like to thank NBC 5 for partnering with us on this wonderful campaign. On Friday, March 5th Catholic Charities' employees and volunteers collected nonperishable food and cash donations at NBC 5 Plaza, while the NBC morning news team reported on the drive and encouraged people to participate and give. Your donations will help Catholic Charities reach many people in need. Thank you Chicago!

Take Action!

Thanks to partnerships with local food agencies, Catholic Charities can stretch your donation to buy more food for hungry people. For example, a donation of $9.50 will buy 9 gallons of milk or $18 will buy 21 jars of peanut butter. Remember, a gift of any size can make a difference to a neighbor in need.
