2008-2009 Report: The Impact of Catholic Charities

Catholic Charities impacts the lives of hundreds of thousands of people in communities throughout Cook and Lake counties. This report outlines what we do for and why we need the support of the entire community.

Spirit Magazine

Spirit Magazine is published four times yearly in Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago for its friends, clients and benefactors. The publication is intended to educate donors about the work of Catholic Charities. In addition, the magazine provides a forum for Catholic Charities to keep the public abreast of developments and changes within the agency.

Keenager News

Keenager News is a free monthly paper for senior citizens, containing news, opinion, human interest, how-to, and travel articles, along with humor, puzzles, and recipes. Our "Readers' Corner" provides a forum for readers' own reminiscences, and poems. Keenager News is published as an outreach ministry of Catholic Charities, a non-profit, social service organization that helps people of all faiths.

White Paper

Since the introduction of welfare reform legislation in America more than 10 years ago, Catholic Charities has endeavored to be a voice for the people we serve by preparing a yearly paper on issues such as housing, the working poor and hunger. In releasing the 2007 paper: "Honor Your Father and Mother: The Devastating Effects of Poverty on Seniors," Catholic Charities calls further attention to the issues of aging and poverty and the moral outrage they represent. The paper was released at Catholic Charities' 90th Annual Board Meeting held in October.

Annual Report

This Annual Report describes services and activities rendered by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago between July 1, 2007 and June 30, 2008. In this report, we share some of our stand-out successes as testimony to the value of our services. We are proud to continue our more than 90-year tradition with your support, and to help people bring about the change in their lives they so desperately need and want for themselves and their families.
