Professional counseling services for pregnant teens, women, birth fathers and their families who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. Medical care planning and assistance is provided throughout the pre-natal, delivery and post-natal periods. Clients receive social services and educational support in making a plan for the care of their baby. Options that are explored include parenting, relative placement and making a plan for adoption. Licensed temporary care is available, providing birth parents with a safe nurturing home for their infant while they finalize plans for their child's future. Adoptive parents, birth parents and maternity staff are available for speaking engagements to inform the public about adoption as a positive option. Services are available in Spanish and English.

Counseling for women dealing with an unplanned pregnancy, as well as birth fathers and other interested family members. Support for pregnant teens, including work around developmental issues. Services offered are case management, advocacy and support for all stages of the pregnancy with follow-up counseling and adoption services upon request.

Jadonal E. Ford Center for Adolescent Parenting

The Jadonal E. Ford Center houses the following programs for adolescent parents:

Roseland Adolescent Parenting Project/Ounce/Birth to Three Institute (RAPP)
Provides adolescent parents and their families access to group, birth to three services, home-based, advocacy and other community services to help reduce the negative social, educational, financial and developmental consequences associated with early parenthood. Clients must live in an area bordered by 95th Street on the north, 132nd on the south, the Bishop Ford Freeway on the east and Ashland Avenue on the west.

Maywood Adolescent Parenting Project (MAPP)
Provides parenting education, support and specialized groups to pregnant and parenting teens at Proviso East High School and in the Maywood community.

Parenting Adolescent Support Services (PASS)
Assessment and supportive counseling services to pregnant and parenting adolescents to age 20 who are wards of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).  Services focused on placement stabilization and conflict resolution are provided to wards in their living environment.

Independent Living Program (ILO)
Cook County program. See Children/Youth/Families/Abuse or Neglect.

Family Case Management (FCM)
Case management of medical services to pregnant women, infants and children up to one year of age to ensure that pregnant women receive pre-natal and post-partum care and infants and children receive immunizations and other appropriate medical services. Clients must live in an area bordered by 95th Street on the north, 132nd on the south, the Bishop Ford Freeway on the east and Ashland Avenue on the west.

Teen Parent Services (TPS)
Teen Parent Services helps young parents under age 21 who are “at risk” of dropping out of school to enroll, stay in school, and obtain a high school diploma or its equivalent.  Completing their secondary education enables young parents to become more self-sufficient and economically independent.  Participation can be voluntary or if the teen is a recipient of TANF, enrollment is mandatory.

DCFS/LANS 86 Education Support Service
Is offered to any child exhibiting social, emotional and or/behavioral problems impacting negatively on school performance as demonstrated by poor school attendance, truancy, suspensions and/or expulsion.  Children to be served include all children and youth attending the elementary school or the schools surrounding the community receiving the support services.  Service area is DCFS LAN 86.

Arts of Living Institute

This is a comprehensive program that provides services in cooperation with the Chicago Board of Education to pregnant and parenting Chicago teens in specific high schools. The Institute primarily focuses on young mothers and their children and offers accredited high school health classes, counseling, case management, and referral services to pregnant and parenting teens and their families. Psycho-educational groups on child development, infant and maternal health and parenting skills are also available. The program is open to students attending the following public high schools:
