Chief Programs Officer

Ami Novoryta is Chief Program Officer, providing oversight and guidance of human services programming for nearly 500,000 clients through the capable hands of more than 1,000 team members throughout Cook and Lake Counties. Prior to joining Charities, Ami was Heartland Alliance’s Chief Strategy Officer, where she led strategy, launched a social innovation practice, and collaborated with community stakeholders to design and launch READI Chicago, a nationally recognized and rigorously evaluated gun violence initiative. Previously, Ami served as a senior advisor with Conlon Public Strategies, led strategy and impact at the National Center on Time and Learning, and led development and communications at Chicago’s Erie Neighborhood House. She is a Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow, serves on the Leadership Fellows Association, and is a Founding Member of Chief Chicago. Ami holds an MPP from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, an MEd from the University of Massachusetts-Boston, and a BA in communications from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.
