The Lunch-n -More Catering and Food Service Enterprise is an innovative social enterprise focusing on job training and food service. The enterprise employs and trains people at risk of homelessness, homeless veterans, women in recovery, and refugees in Chicago, as well as high-risk, low-income youth in the summer months. What began as a provider of "boxed lunches" prepared by the single, adult, male recovering addict clients of Catholic Charities' Cooke's Manor program, a program for veterans in recovery, has now expanded to help provide nutritious home-delivered meals and meals in congregate settings to seniors, allowing them to safely remain in their homes in the community, and free meals to children ages 5 to 18 through the Summer Lunch Program, extending the health and wellness benefits of the meals they receive during the school year.

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), or 'Summer Lunch Program,' provides free, nutritious meals and snacks to help children ages 5 to 18 in low-income areas get the nutrition they need to learn, play and grow, throughout the summer months when they are out of school. Funded by the USDA, breakfast and lunch are distributed through a network of local community partners, at both open and enrolled sites, such as churches, schools and nonprofits in areas that qualify for free and reduced lunch in Cook County. All meals are made fresh through Catholic Charities' Lunch-n-More Catering and Food Service Enterprise and meet meal pattern requirements.
