Standing with our neighbors
Changes to SNAP have put an estimated 120,000 of our neighbors at risk of losing their food assistance benefits.
Across Cook and Lake counties, food pantries have reported not just more visitors, but more people visiting a pantry for the first time. At Catholic Charities pantries alone, visits have increased by 35 percent since last June.
Understanding the strain pantries were under, last fall, the Archdiocese and Catholic Charities launched Harvest of Hope, which delivered 300,000 pounds of food to families, translating to about 25,000 meals.
The demand is only expected to increase. If you’re in need of food, our network of pantries is here for you.
And if you’re in a position to help, please make a gift of any amount to stand with our neighbors in need.
