THANK YOU for choosing to support our work.

While founded within and inspired by the Catholic faith, we are financially independent of the Archdiocese of Chicago, which means that we are dependent on your donations and grants to fund our work.

Each year, our budget begins at zero and requires us to raise ALL of the funds that we utilize to help the thousands of people and families who we encounter in times of great need. 100% of the money donated to us goes to our work.

Your donations feed hungry families, provide shelter for those facing homelessness, foster community and connection for low-income seniors and veterans, support counseling for those who struggle with mental illness, bring tutoring to children, and so much more.

We welcome your gift – whether it be a one-time donation or your commitment to joining one of our Giving Societies.

Notes on our Financial Independence

While Catholic Charities is affiliated with of the Archdiocese of Chicago, no on-going funding is received from the Archdiocese or its parishes. However, many parishes and priests choose to donate to us. We also have a limited historical endowment, which we hold aside for emergency situations. To meet the magnitude of need, the Board of Directors authorized use of endowment resources in significant ways during 2020-2022 pandemic years.
